N.Y.C. City Proof Twistable Lip Primer
This is the most recent release from N.Y.C. their lip primer, I have found with N.Y.C. that they can be a bit hit and miss so I thought I would give this a whirl.
On first impressions I just felt that it made my lips feel a bit too slick, so when I applied my lip product I did get the feeling that it was just going to slide off of my lips, but I persevered, and I am still on the fence with this.
I have found that on sheer shades this does make them a lot bolder and less sheer so that is a plus but I don't find that it makes my lipstick last longer then without having it on.
Overall it isn't a bad product but I don't think I would repurchase it again as it didn't really do that much for me.
The product retails for £3.49, and can be found at your local Superdrug or on their website HERE.
Thanks for tuning in

I Heart Makeup Lipsticks
While I was in Manchester Christmas shopping I popped into the local Superdrug and finally found an I heart makeup stand (I kinda went a bit crazy, but mum was on hand to then put it all in my stocking from Santa)

Valentine's Reds (The Lippy Edition)
Happy Valentines Day everyone and welcome to a valentines day post, last year I did my top five red nail polishes (HERE), so this year it is the turn of the lip products.
Russian Roulette - Sleek
Russian Roulette is quite a dark matte red, and the best one if you are wanting to rock a dark bold lip on Valentines Day. This lasts quite long on the lips due to it being a matte lipstick, but I will forewarn you make sure your lips aren't having a dry day as this can show up dry patches. This is a really bright red and the Rouge Edition Velvets had to be included. The formula is so long lasting and great during that romantic meal.
Candy Apple is quite a sheer lipstick, so this is for those of you that want to try a red lipstick but don't want to be too daring
This again is another bright red but with a darker tinge to it then Hot Pepper above. This is a gorgeous shade on the lips and looks just fantastic. The formula is matte and is also quite long lasting on the lips.
The Redder, The Better - Rimmel Colour Rush Lip Crayon
This is another sheer red with an orange tones, it applies to the lips fantastically and is also great if you are not wanting to be too daring on Valentines Day.I hope you liked the post, is there any red lip products that you love that weren't featured?
Thanks for tuning in

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets
When these came onto the market last year they caused mass hysteria (that actually might just have been me - oopsie), and I just had to have some in my collection.

December 2014 Favourites
Welcome to another favourites post, I will admit this one is a small one (I only have four favourites from December), but still just as good.

Rimmel Lipstick Lock
This was a spur of the moment purchase, I don't wear lipstick that often (a beauty blogger that doesn't always wear lipstick shock! horror!), but when I do, I do like it to last.
This looks like a dupe for lipcote (another lip lock product).
What you do with this is once your lipstick is applied you blot it and then apply a light coat of this over the top. Once applied you then have to wait for it to dry (you can't put your lips together until it has).
It does make my lipstick last by drying it to a matte feel (think of the bourjois rouge edition velvet's and your about there for the sensation), what I'm not a fan of is the smell as it just stinks and it smells like chemicals, which is a product turn off especially when it is going on your lips and there is a minute chance that you will probably end up with some in your mouth (not a nice thought).
It's a good product but the chemical smell just puts me off.

Hawaiian Tropics Lip Gloss - Island Berry
I was in Boots when they had an offer on their sunscreen (buy one get one free), I ended up buying the Hawaiian Tropic Face Suncream and getting this as a freebie.
I don't wear lipgloss that much but when I was on holiday, I popped this into my makeup bag (it's coming with me to London in my makeup bag).
This is a really lovely lip gloss, it applies to the lips really easy, and the applicator is quite hygenic (being plastic). The colour in the tube can be quite scary but it applies to the lips sheer with a hint of colour.
This lip gloss smells fantastic really fruity and reminds me of Summer, it also contains an SPF, which is fantastic as it adds extra protection to your lips with SPF25. The formula isn't sticky on the lips and with this a lot does go a long way.
Overall a great lipgloss, and one I can't wait to get back using when I am in London.
Thanks for tuning in

L'Oreal L'Extrodinaire Liquid Lipstick
This is the new release from L'Oreal the L'Extrodinaire Liquid Lipstick.
L'Oreal describe this product as having three dimensions of lip perfection, the pigmentation of a lipstick, the shine of a gloss and the softness of a lip balm. Well these are very huge boasts that L'Oreal are making so I just had to try it out and see what all the fuss was about.
Pigmentation of a Lipstick
This when applied to the lips is very pigmented and applies really well to the lips. I only need to swipe the applicator over the lips once and the colour came out really well.
Shine of a Gloss
As you can see in the swatch the shine of this product is high and it adds a really nice shine to the lips.
Softness of a Balm
This really does moisturise the lips, after wearing this for a couple of hours the lipstick didn't start to go claggy.
Overall I really liked this product, and the colour was a great nude colour, the colour wasn't a shade too close to my skin colour (don't want it to look like I have no lips). I love the packaging the product looks a lot more expensive then it actually is (L'Oreal seem to have the edge on this). When I am next in the drugstore I will look at the other colours in the range.
Thanks for tuning in

Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balms
These are Revlon's most recent launch (I covered the matte balm's previously here) So I had to go out and buy them and see what the hype was all about.
I have 2 (at the moment), the range consists of 10 balms ranging from browns to pinks. I have the 2 brown shades here to review.
Ingenue
Ingenue is a light brown shade and when applied to the lips it is a very sheer colour and only gives a hint of colour. I noticed when applied to the lips it also gave off a tingling sensation (so unsure if the balms have a thing in them to plump up the lips.
This would be good for when you just want a hint of colour on the lips and nothing to dramatic or bright. I would wear this for a natural look or a 'I'm not wearing make-up or am I?' kind of days.
Coy
Coy is the darker of the shades and shows up a lot more on the lips then Ingenue. The balm applies easily and smoothly to the lips. This has to be my favourite out of the two as it adds a bit more colour then Ingenue does.
Overall they are nice on the lips and apply fantastically, but if I had to choose between these and the matte balms, I prefer the matte balms a lot more then these.

Sleek Lip Gloss Pout Polish - Perfect Plum
Pout Polish is a tinted lip conditioner that nourishes and feels like a lip balm, whilst providing the look and colour of a subtle gloss as well as an SPF of 15 (good for on the beach then). It also contains natural oils so that your lips are protected and moisturised.
This for me stood out on the stand, I'm not a fan of dark colours but this looked like it would stand out on the lips. The range has 13 shades (can be found on Sleek's website here). The polish retails for £4.49 on Sleek's website as well as Superdrug and Boots.
To apply this you use your fingers in the pan and then just apply to the lips, but this can be a bit messy as the colour then goes onto your finger and you need a tissue to wipe it off (if you are using this and your out and about you really are going to need one). The product itself is really good it feels buttery on the lips and just feels moisturising, and the colour wasn't as dark as I thought it might be, the colour is noticeable on the lips but it is also sheer as well.
I'm not a fan of the way the product is packaged, get this in a stick form and this will be cooking on gas (at least you wouldn't need to wash your hands after every use) as the formula is lovely on the lips.
Have you tried the Pout Polish? What did you think?

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm
When these were released the hype around them was massive, everyone wanted them and quite rightly too, I have one at the moment. Now don't get me wrong I love these but I haven't found any other colours in the range that I would kill for at the moment (give me time and I am sure that I will).
The one I have is Sultry, and this is a lovely dark pink shade, now I love anything that is going to make applying my make up easy when I am out and about and this does the job really well.
The colour is gorgous and works well during the day as it is not too bright and not too dark, but it also works during a night time if you have gone for a really dramatic eye look and don't want to be heavy in other places.
I also love Matte lip sticks as they seem to last longer on the lips then more liquidy based lip products, this goes on to the lips really easy and doesn't get too claggy, I will admit you may need to scrub your lips as they can be a tiny bit drying after a long period of time. Re-application is good, you don't need to reapply for quite a while (which is fine by me).
Overall this is a great matte lip crayon, and I will be nosing at the other colours in the matte range.
Thanks for tuning in

Rimmel Apocalips
Rimmel Apocalips took the blogging world by storm everyone and their granny seems to love these, they come in 13 colours and I have 4 so far:
Eclipse
I picked this up thinking it was a lot lighter then it was, it is a lovely dark plum shade but with me it has the recipe for disaster. It is a very vibrant shade and a lot of confidence is needed before I could wear this outside.
Shooting Star
I was looking for a nude/brown shade in the range and I picked up shooting star, it is a lovely shade but when I put it on it matches my skin tone so I look like I have no lips, really not a good look. I think if you have a darker skin tone, then it would show up a lot more.
Big Bang
This is a really showstopping red, and an escape from the norm for me, I'm not the kind of girl that goes for any shade of lip colour other then brown, but I was feeling daring so this was chosen. It's a really nice red colour goes onto the lips quite easily and is really a statement red lip.
Celestial
This is a lovely nude pink colour, your lips but a tiny bit better, it looked fantastic on the lips and is a good colour to wear if you have a dramatic eye makeup effect going on as it keeps the attention on the eyes and not on the lips.
I do love these lip lacquers they are gorgeous, but I will have to admit that barring the nude brown colours they could do with some darker browns (I have a thing for brown, I need more colour in my life), overall I like them but let's get some more colours in the range.

Revlon Butter Balm
These are brand new from Revlon, and I managed to snag one (I've not been able to find them in my local Boots, I had to go further afield).
The concept with the Butter Balm is that it is really a lip balm that contains a hint of glitter, this can then be worn on its own or with your current lip product. As you can see in the swatch above there is only a hint of glitter, and you can just see something there on the back of my hand.
I know the idea of glitter on the lips will send you back to your teenage years (it does me), but over the top of a lipstick when your on a night out this surprisingly works, because there is a hint there when the lights hit your lips it will bring out the sparkle of the glitter.
These can always be worn on their own just for their amazing lip butter properties to moisturise the lips and add some shine to them.
Overall they aren't bad, a good moisturiser for the lips.
They can be found in Boots and on their website here and retail for £7.99.

Lush Lip Scrub - Mint Juleps
My lips can be quite dry and I was in Lush in November and discovered their range of lip scrubs, I had a snifter as you do and loved the smell of Mint Juleps (it smelled of After Eights), and I thought was the right one for the upcoming christmas season.
What you do is you dab your finger into the pot and rub the product all over your lips, once you have scrubbed your lips you can then lick it off, I use water to wash it off because it's also dry skin as well yuk!
This also comes in Bubblegum, and Popcorn flavours.
This works really well on the lips to take off the dead skin but you do need to put a lip balm on after, the mint juleps one smells gorgeous and because of the mint is quite refreshing on your lips.
I will buy this product again but I will have to try the other smells/flavours.

BLOGMAS 22: Smashbox Try It Set - Bestsellers
I was in Boots a while ago and saw this set for £19.00, now I'm not a fan of high end brands, I begrudge paying those prices, but for the amount you get in here (and please remember they are trial sizes), they aren't that bad.
You receive these products:
- Face primer
- Lid Primer
- Mascara
- Lip gloss
- Eyeliner
Face Primer
I have used this and for my first dip into a primer it wasn't too bad, has a very odd texture when you apply to the skin, it feels greasy and then dissappears into the skin quite quickly.
It does make the foundation adhere to the face quite well but I don't think I will buy a full size bottle until I have tried some cheaper alternatives.
Lid Primer
This is an eye opener (in more ways than one), I love this product, it really does help your eyeshadow from creasing, If i had to buy a high end lid primer this would be it.
Mascara
The mascara was pretty good it didn't clump up my lashes and it lasted quite well.
Lip Gloss
This is a nice sheer lip gloss, and could be used as a top coat over a nude lipstick to give it a bit more shine.
Eyeliner
This eyeliner is good, I apply my liner mainly to the bottom lash line of my eyes, and the waterline. It stays in place quite well, and leaves a nice defined line, this I would buy a full sized version.

BLOGMAS 19: Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream
These are matte lip creams and they go onto the lips very easily, they come in a range of 4 colours, and so far I have 3:
- Powder Puff
- Angel Delight
- Fairy Cake
Powder Puff
Angel delight is quite a nude colour, and a good one to wear if you want a natural look.
Angel Delight
This is my most recent purchase out of the bunch, I was going to my nephew's 21st and I love a brown lip colour, so I grabbed this one. It's very nice on the lips not too dark and not too bright a gorgeous colour.
Fairy Cake
This is quite a dark pink, more of a salmon colour, good when you want a dark pink lip, I don't think I can get away with a red lip so this for me is a somewhat in between colour.
These all stay on the lips for ages but you I needed to apply a lip balm every so often otherwise my lips did dry up and start to feel claggy. These are one of my favourite lip creams, and even having to add a lip balm every so often doesn't put me off.
Thanks for tuning in
