Revlon Butter Balm

These are brand new from Revlon, and I managed to snag one (I've not been able to find them in my local Boots, I had to go further afield).

The concept with the Butter Balm is that it is really a lip balm that contains a hint of glitter, this can then be worn on its own or with your current lip product. As you can see in the swatch above there is only a hint of glitter, and you can just see something there on the back of my hand.

I know the idea of glitter on the lips will send you back to your teenage years (it does me), but over the top of a lipstick when your on a night out this surprisingly works, because there is a hint there when the lights hit your lips it will bring out the sparkle of the glitter.

These can always be worn on their own just for their amazing lip butter properties to moisturise the lips and add some shine to them.

Overall they aren't bad, a good moisturiser for the lips.

Catherine Wheel - Models Own

This is another edition from the Models Own Fireworks range, in the picture I have this over the top of Smoke and Ashes from China Glaze.

I matched these two together for the release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (I was originally going to use Electrify by China Glaze but couldn't get a hold of it)

This is a lovely glitter polish, this glitter comes out in strands and specs of red and yellow, I was surprised with how much actually came out onto the nail, I only had to go back over 1 or 2 again to get a good covering of glitter.

This is a polish that you will be seeing again come November or The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

NYX Shimmer Roll-On Eyeshadow

NYX cosmetics are all over the place at the moment, and I saw these eyeshadows and thought, these need a test.

So welcome to the world of the Shimmer Roll-On Eyeshadow, if you are wanting a bit of sparkle with your eyeshadow this is the place to come to.

These shimmer roll-on's come in 16 colours, and I have 3 to show you here.

The 3 that I have are:

• Purple
• Platinum
• Walnut

Lets get on with the show:

Purple
This is a lovely bright purple colour, good for blending to make some great smokey eye looks.

Platinum
This is a white colour (which I actually used for my work Christmas party over the top of another shade), the shadow is good for blending with other colours.

Walnut
This is a lovely light brown colour, and good for when you just want a subtle hint of colour with some shimmer.


All these colours are good for a night out (the glitter will reflect off of the lights), I have to say my favourite is Platinum, as you can use it over any eyeshadow to give them a little bit of extra sparkle.

BLOGMAS 21: Vampire Vanity - Bourjois

This was a free gift with purchase at Superdrug, and I thought this is a great glitter for the festive season.

It is a gold leaf type glitter with a range of different sizes (there's even some micro-glitter in there as well just to flesh it out a bit), as this is part of the Bourjois 1 Seconde range the brush fitted to the nail perfectly. I used this as a top coat over Deeply in Love from Nicole by O.P.I, and I think it matched perfectly.

The distribution of the glitter onto the nail was good, and I only needed to redo a couple of nails. This surprised me as I thought that it might be a faff on as the glitter was so big, and that the distribution would be a bit pants, but as I said previously I was pleasantly surprised with how much coverage you got.

Sardonyx - Models Own

Sardonyx - Models Own

This is a lovely red colour with glitter running through it, it is from the Models Own Velvet Goth collection which comes in a range of 5 colours.

The polish is very thick and gloopy (this is probably due to the amount of glitter that is in the bottle). The colour is really quite dark and the coverage is really good, the glitter fully covers the nail.

The polish has a quick drying time, and does look really good, a lovely colour for autumn/ winter, I didn't use a top coat as once the polish is on it leaves a nice texture to the nail. This is a colour I will be wearing again especially for the party season.
