Empties

Hey guys, I'm back,

What better way to come back from my long hiatus then by having an empties post, this is a mixture of both June and July, there is not much but there is enough to make a post out of.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub.

I love a body scrub, I suffer from dry skin and as part of my showering routine I use a body scrub religiously. While I was in Boots I decided to take a neb at the Soap & Glory bodycare range and spotted the Sugar Crush body scrub.

July Empties 2014

Welcome to my July empties, I know my posts have been few and far between but I am trying to get back in sync with them, so let's get on with the show.

 First is skincare/ fragrance:

Johnson's Baby Shampoo - I use this mainly to clean my brushes as it isn't harsh with them, I have a larger bottle that I have started using now so it has already been repurchased.

The Body Shop Mango Body Scrub - I got this as part of a set for Mother's Day off of my stepson, and I am absolutely in love with it and I will be repurchasing this.

Forever Yours Purse Spray - I bought this for £3 in Superdrug just as a perfume that would fit in my bag, and it smelled so lovely.

Dove Original Deodorant (mini) - As you know in last months favourites I was reacquainted with an old friend which was the Dove original deodorant, I finished a mini as I use them for when I go on a night out as they fit into my clutch bag brilliantly.

Next is wipes

Boots Double Sided Round Cotton Wool - I love these, they are so soft on the skin especially when using with my micellar water to remove my makeup

Handy Wipes - These are fabulous I bought them from our local Home Bargains and they are just all purpose wipes and because they are small in size they fit perfectly in a handbag.

Baby Wipes - Another pack of baby wipes, I get through a lot of these as I use them on my vanity to wipe up any messes or wipe my hands from any makeup just until I get to the bathroom.

Next is cosmetics:

MUA Pro Base Fixing Mist - As you know this is my 2nd bottle of this setting spray which I would repurchase but at the moment I am trying out the Avon Setting Spray.

Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara - I am gutted to say goodbye to this beauty, it is rare for me to repurchase a mascara but this one I will. It worked brilliantly on my lashes and the large brush just grabbed every one of them.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Rocket (Waterproof) - This is another mascara that I am sad to be getting rid of, it is such a lovely mascara and will be one that I am repurchasing.

GOSH Prime n' Refresh Illuminating Eye Roll On - I didn't really find that this did anything for me I loved the delivery system with the massage type balls but it just didn't work for me.

GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer - As you can see from the picture the bottle is still half full, the formula just turned really watery in consistency (alarm bells telling me that this needs to go)

Collection Primed & Ready Primer - I didn't like the feel of this primer as it did feel quite greasy once applied to the skin and the price as well for the amount of product wasn't that great either.

SEVENTEEN Fade Away Concealer - I liked this concealer, but it's been dossing in the back of my drawer for a while now and has seen some better days.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dry - I love this top coat but once you get past the brush the product is just pointless and it becomes messy trying to get it out of the bottle.

Last but but not least is the Look Beauty Ooomph Lashes Mascara, it's not really finished I only just opened it a couple of days ago but when I did it was all dried out just like the Accessorize mascara, so this has put me off buying any mascaras from the Look Beauty range.

Thanks for tuning in

I LOVE...Raspberry & Blackberry Body Polish

My partner bought me some of this range for Christmas, so while I was in my local Superdrug I decided to pick up the body polish.

I have to admit I wasn't really a big big fan of this, I loved the smell of the polish, but it was just its exfoliating properties I felt let down with. When applying to the skin the polish felt like it wasn't actually exfoliating my skin but just tickling it so to speak, and I have been spoilt by Lush's Rub Rub Rub as that is what I expect a body scrub to do.

The smell is gorgeous, you can really smell the raspberries, but the viscosity is very strange, it is a thick gloopy liquid that once applied to the skin lathers up. The gel contains raspberry seeds which helps exfoliate the skin to remove the dead skin cells.

Not one of my favourite body scrubs, and I won't buy it again, but if you do like your body scrub to be softer this one may just be for you.

Thanks for tuning in

May Empties

Welcome to my May Empties:

First of all I will start with haircare:

Style Essentials Anti-Frizz Serum
I really love this serum, it stops my hair from frizzing up after I've washed it and you only need a small amount to work it into the hair. I have already repurchased a new bottle.

Boots Expert Build Up Removal Shampoo
This is a brilliant shampoo, it really removes any buildup in my hair from the week to leave it really clean and fresh, and I already have a new bottle ready to go.

Vosene 2-in-1 Anti Dandruff Shampoo
When it comes to a shampoo I am picky especially as I do suffer from the dreaded dandruff, I have tried god only knows how many anti-dandruff shampoo's but this one really does work, it smells lovely and comes in under £2 so it is really inexpensive.

Boots Double Sided Round Cotton Wool
I love this cotton wool as it is really soft on my face and not to rough.

Superdrug Baby Wipes
I always keep a packet of baby wipes on my vanity incase of any spillages or to wipe my hands of any excess product.

Superdrug Oval Cotton Wool
I love this cotton wool so that I can clean my brushes, the cotton wool is quite rough on the skin but works really well on my brushes.

Superdrug Face Wipes
I don't use these every day just if I have a late night and am too tired to go through my evening routine, they are just a back up.

Lush Rub Rub Rub Body Scrub
I love this body scrub, it really does exfoliate my skin brilliantly. I haven't bought another tub yet as I have a load of body scrubs to get through at the moment.

Dove Original Deodorant
I love this deodorant, I keep the compressed version in my bag so I can always top up while I am out and about

Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets
As you know I have oily skin, and these are fabulous for helping to combat it during the day but also helping to keep my makeup in place.

No7 Brush Cleanser
As you know I love this cleanser so once I start to get low I make sure I have a back up ready (my back up is currently going low so time for a trip to Boots).

Nivea Daily Cleansing Wipes
I really like these wipes as they come in a big pack for under £3 from my local Home Bargains store, as I said with the Superdrug ones, these are just if I have a late night and am too tired to go through my evening routine.

Superdrug Cotton Wool Buds
I use these all the time for cleaning up any nail polish mistakes when painting my nails, as they fit round the nail brilliantly.

Natural Collection Lash Care Mascara
I was using this mascara as a way to stop my lashes from drying out when I applied mascara. This worked really well and I will repurchase in the future as it was inexpensive for £1.99.

Natural Collection WaterGuard Mascara - Black
A really good waterproof mascara that didn't flake on me and very inexpensive as well at just £1.99. I would repurchase this again.

Bourjois Volume Glamour Max Holidays Mascara - Black
I really love this mascara so am sorry to see it go, I will repurchase this again but once my mascara collection has gone down a bit more

N.Y.C. Showtime Mascara - Black
This was a really good mascara, because the brush was small I was able to get into all the hard to reach places. I would repurchase this again but as I said with the max holidays mascara I will wait until the collection has gone down.

April Empties

Welcome to my April empties, it always surprises me how much I actually get through it a month. Anyway let us get on with the show:-

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - This is a great cleansing water, I love that you get 400mls for 4/2.99 (depending on where you shop) and it lasted around 2 months of constant use to get my makeup off and just general cleansing.

Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray - I love this heat protectant, I use it all the time when I am straightening my hair as it really protects my hair from high heats and doesn't make it feel greasy afterwards.

Garnier Ultimate Beauty Oil - I love a body oil after a bath/shower as I feel that a bath/shower takes more moisture so the oil just gives an intense hit of moisture. I wrote in my post about this that my hands got greasy and made it hard to use the pump. Once I stopped have a stupid moment I realise to spray it all over first then rub in. I did like this oil but it is a bit pricey about the same price range as The Body Shop Beautifying oil so I would repurchase if it was on offer.

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray - I was iffy with this product and in some ways I still am it had a weird smell and when I sprayed the product it just seemed to go everywhere but my face and for £8 I don't think I would purchase this again.

Lush Rub Rub Rub Body Scrub - This is the second time this has shown up in my empties and it probably will show up again. I love this scrub it really does clear all the dead skin and leaves my skin feeling really soft. I will be repurchasing when I've used up some of my other body scrubs.

Superdrug Oval Cotton Wool Pads - I went through 2 packets of these which is quite amazing, but I do love these to spot clean my brushes with the No7 Brush Cleanser. They are oval so I can really swirl the brush around the pad, I already have a backup packet in place.

Bodycare Pink Round Cotton Wool Pads - I like Bodycare's cotton wool pads as they are really soft on the skin, and these were pink so it was quite a novelty. I would purchase these pads again when I am next near a Bodycare shop

Pure Baby Soft & Gentle Baby Wipes - I used to do my makeup in the bathroom but over Christmas my partner got me the No7 light up mirror so I have sorted out a little vanity area for me but I have applying products then opening another product and just making a mess. I use a baby wipe to clean my hands while applying then I properly wash my hands afterwards to get rid of everything.
These were OK baby wipes which I got from my local Home Bargains shop for under £1, I would repurchase again as they were ok.

There's my empties, I hope you enjoyed yourself, and where there any products there that you have been using and loved/hated.

The Body Shop Chocomania Body Scrub

I love The Body Shop, their products are amazeballs and they have some gorgeous scents, one o my favourites is the Chocomania range (I'm a chocoholic so I was always going to love this range).

I tried the Chocomania Body Scrub a couple of months ago (this can be found in an empties post here), this was only a trial size so there was only 2 uses of the scrub.

I put this scrub on dry as it gives a much deeper scrub, the scrub is a sugar scrub so not too abrasive when rubbing onto the skin.

With the scrub being such a dark brown, when applying to the skin you look like you've just had a mud bath, and there might be a brown ring round the plughole (I've not noticed this yet, but I am keeping my eyes peeled).

The scrub feels really lovely on the skin and once washed off leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth and gets rid of all the dead skin that has accumulated.

This is one of my favourite body scrubs and one I will be repurchasing again.

The Body Shop Haul

DISCLAIMER: I am not bragging, just showing items that may be reviewed on the blog in the future. This is also just first impressions on the products not reviews.

I'm not a big fan of putting up haul posts as to me it seems like bragging (which I hate), but this one was just too good to miss. If you have The Body Shop app on your phone you may receive a message telling you that if you spend £50 in store or online, you get £25 off, I did so that was incentive enough for me (I think they are doing this online as well not just through the app, I am unsure about that though).

I bought:

Satsuma Shower Gel
This takes me back to my childhood, this is one of those Body Shop smells that I remember from being a kid (if they every stop selling this shower gel the world may just end)

Seaweed Mattifying Lotion
This is a new product I have never tried so this should be fun, I normally use Garnier's moisture match lotion but I am itching for a change so thought this was a good idea.

Honeymania Body Butter
I bought a small pot of this a couple of weeks ago and was waiting till the end of the month to purchase a bigger tub but with the offer I couldn't say no.

Chocomania Body Scrub
I had a small tub of this at Christmas (it was in an empties post a while ago), and it smelled lovely so I had to grab the bigger tub.

And because I already have quite a lot of body butters, and lotions to get through I also got my friend the Chocomainia Shower Gel and Body Butter, as like me she is a huge chocaholic.

I hope you like some of the products up there, and are there any Body Shop products that you love.

Thanks for tuning in

October Favourites - 2013

DISCLAIMER: All opinions are my own and the products have been bought with my own money.

Hi everybody and welcome to my first installment of my monthly favourites.

L'Oreal Micellar Water
I have been loving this in October, I won't badger on about this as I have already posted about it to read more click the title bar above, but I will be buying this again.

Garnier Moisture Match Moisturiser
This is a lovely facial moisturiser and it has been doing wonders for the dry areas on my face, you can read more about it by clicking the link above.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash
I love The Body Shop, their products are fantastic and smell amazing. This one doesn't have the greatest of smells (it smells quite clinical) but it does wonders for your face, I use the facial brush that can also be found in The Body Shop. I use this on an evening to really deep clean my face.

The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector
I am loving this hand cream, it doesn't leave your hands to greasy when it is applied and it keeps them all nice and supple.

Lush Rub Rub Rub Body Scrub
I love this body scrub, it takes off all the dead skin that can accumulate on your body (I'm running out so thank god I'm off as I can go and grab some more). I love this and will be repurchasing this again.

MUA Colourblast Eyeshadow Tint - A Girl Like Me (Superdrug)
I love eyeshadow crayons, I'm not a morning person so something that is going to help me apply make up quicker is a godsend. I love this colour especially as when I go to work I like a nice natural look and this colour provides it.

Collection Work The Colour Shadow Pencil -  Gunmetal Glitz
This is a lovely colour, a great one for Autmun, I don't wear this all the time but I do wear it during the weekend or if I am going on a night out somewhere.

17 Doll'd Up Mascara - Blackest Black
This is a lovely mascara it gives me a full coverage and does make my lashes look somewhat fuller.

Carmex Cherry Lip Balm
I've refound my love for Carmex Lip Balm, I just found it in the bedroom, and thought I would like a change and have had this in my bag as my go to lip balm for most of this month, I love the packaging and when your in a rush it allows you to apply and go.

After School Boy Blazer - Essie
This is a beauty bloggers must have it seems, every beauty blogger under the sun is raving about this polish , and yes I am following suit.
This nail polish is a lovely dark navy colour, it looks black in some lights, and Navy in others.

Models Own - 5-in-1
I love this, it's a 5-in-1 top and base coat and it is fantastic, wil certainly buy again, it stops my nails from yellowing and it keeps them all nice and healthy.

Cloud 9 - Sinful Colors (Boots)
I was surprised with how much I really liked this colour, I bought it to use for Halloween, and I actually liked it on its own and think I will wear it again next summer.

Shade 9 - 2 True (Superdrug) (I missed this out of the picture accidentally, really sorry)
This is a lovely dark brown colour and a great one for Autumn. This stayed on my nails for days without chipping, one I will most definitely wear again.

Forever Yours EDT (Superdrug)
This I picked up while I was waiting in the queue to pay for my purchases and thought I need a small perfume to go in my bag and thought I would try this out for only £3.00

Rimmel Exaggerate Lid Primer
This is a good primer for your lids, it works really well and it keeps the eyeshadow on the lid for a long time.

Reviews on these products will be forthcoming in the near future.

Thanks for tuning in

Rub Rub Rub - Lush

I was in Lush a while ago and the sales girl asked me if I had tried their body scrub 'Rub, Rub, Rub', my reply was of course no I have never tried this before. So after a 5 minute demonstration of the scrub and the results on my hands, I was sold and bought a tub right there and then.

Rub Rub Rub - Lush
Rub Rub Rub
As you can see like all Lush packaging it is simple but quite eye catching because of its simplicity.

Rub Rub Rub Inside the tub
Inside the tub

The actual product doesn't look that appealing it's all seasalt and basically a tub of blue goo, but it does smell lovely (reminds me of the beach and the sea)

On the skin
On the Hand

All you need to do is put some on your skin and rub it in. I will forewarn you that if you want a really deep scrub put the product on before you go in the shower, if you want a softer scrub put it on while you are in the shower.

Once rubbed in
Once it's all rubbed in
As you can see once it's rubbed into the skin the product changes colour, once you wash the product off (I did my hand as a dry scrub) the product turns really smooth under the water and it leaves your skin feeling all smooth and lovely.

You can also use it in your hair to add volume (I've not tried this yet as my hair has got enough volume and any more I might get arrested for noise pollution)

It retails at Lush for £8.25 for 330g, this tub has lasted me awhile and is only a quarter full (will probably feature in my October empties)
